The Next Right Thing

In the movie Frozen 2, the idea of “doing the next right thing” is a recurring theme, even meriting its own song. I’ll admit that song makes me cry harder than anything else in the movie. I’m not trying to argue the merits of the movie itself or promote pop culture, but this idea, this theme, has been on my mind for months. The idea seemed so Biblical, yet where does one find a verse that says that?

 

Does Your Faith Transform?

After this talk about temptation, sin and confession, some might ask if all that is necessary after salvation. What role does that play in faith? If I am already forgiven, and can’t be saved by what I do, does it matter what I do? Isn’t faith enough so that I don’t have to worry about the rest?

The Heart of the Matter

So much emphasis is placed on our actions, in Christianity and in the world. I just finished a series on virtues and it dealt mostly with appropriate actions. Most other religions are based almost solely on actions, a works-based faith. Even the Old Testament seems to point that direction. But what is the most important to God?

The "S" Word

It’s not a four letter word, but it makes everyone cringe. It’s not a swear word, but no one likes it (directed at them at least). It is most often used in reference to wives, but few realize that it applies to everyone and is meant for reward and protection, not to demean. It is also essential for growth in godliness.
