Devotions: The Full Armor

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:13 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Put on every piece of God’s armor so that you will be able to resist the enemy, then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Every piece of God’s armor; salvation, faith, righteousness, truth, Spirit, and the Gospel. It is there for us to use, but we need to put it on. That is how we are able to stand firm against the enemy, that is how we remain standing firm. The first part of putting on God’s armor is submitting to Him. We cannot wear His armor if we are living in sin. We need to make our stand on God’s side of the line. We cannot sit on the fence and expect to stand firm in the battle. It is important to make the most of the time we have and not waste it. We need to be prepared for battle always by submitting to God and constantly wearing His armor. That is how we stand, how we stay standing. Otherwise we will fall. We have to stand in His strength and fight His way. If we try to do it our way we will fail. What area of your life do you have a hard time submitting to God? What piece of armor do you not wear daily? Ask God to help you be ready for battle.
