And a leper
came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and
saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and
said to him, “I am
willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
Mark
1:40-42 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
Notice the leper didn’t say “I
want…” or “You can so do it.” He said “if You are willing.” He acknowledged Jesus’
power but made no demands. His request was humble and respectful. Jesus’
compassion is always moved by the wretched state of others. He doesn’t want any
to suffer. He willingly heals. Do you believe that? Do you believe that Jesus
is willing to heal you? It is true. He is open to all, desiring all to come to
Him with belief. He doesn’t always heal, or act in the way we think He should,
but He doesn’t desire any to suffer. Are you willing to submit to Him? To give
your life to Him so that He can take care of you and do what is best for you?
Trust in the Healer, humbly submit to Him and ask for His touch.
