Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will
bring it to pass.
1 Thessalonians 5:24 New American
Standard Bible 1995
Tuesday I talked about God’s
sanctifying work of perfecting us and our role in submitting to and working
with God in it. We can have faith and hope in this process because God is
faithful. He ALWAYS does what He promises and He has promised to work in us
until we are perfect. As long as a believer is on earth God is working in them.
That is a promise. He chose us, He is working in us, and He WILL make it
happen. Of course we won’t actually be perfect while on earth, that final step
happens when we reach heaven, but we will get there. God does not give up on
anyone for any reason. He is eternally patient, faithful and loving, and He is
completely invested in the process. He gave His Son so that this process would
be possible; He is not going to throw in the towel just because it is hard. He
knows the end game and is committed to making it happen. More than any person
in history He is trustworthy. We can trust Him to fulfill His promises. We can
trust His love for us and commitment to do what He has said. He is also
powerful enough to change even the blackest, most stubborn heart. Nothing is
too bad for Him to fix. No person is too far gone for Him to bring back. No
mistake is too wrong for Him to right.
Do you believe and trust in
God’s perfecting work in you? Do you have faith in His promises? Ask Him to
help you trust Him, to show you evidence of His faithfulness to you and others.
Rest assured in His love for and commitment to you.
