Devotions: A Time to Remember

This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
Lamentations 3:21-22 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Christmas can be a time of pain and depression for many, a time to remember what is lost or never will be, a time of loneliness. When tempted by these feelings, remember Who Jesus is. He is God, the Redeemer. Let Him restore your hope, not in circumstances but in Him. Bring His character and faithfulness to mind, let that rekindle your hope. His mercy and compassion have no end. He is eternally good, so while bad things may happen, He is still in control and will bring good of it in His timing. Hope in that. Let the reminders of this season be ones of hope and trust in the One who came to redeem, to seek and save. Trust in His lovingkindness. Don’t give up on the One who never fails.
