For I hope in You, O Lord;
You will answer, O Lord my God.
You will answer, O Lord my God.
Psalm 38:15 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
This is a psalm of David
where he cries out to God in the midst of both the torment of enemies and the
consequences of sin. He cries out for God to forgive him and remove His wrath
because he is fully aware of his guilt. His heart is entirely broken and
contrite before God. He then talks about the schemes of those who do evil and
plan to over throw him, but he won’t listen to them because he hopes in God.
The accusations and criticism of others do not matter to him because he trusts
in the Lord. Only what God says matters to him, and he is confident that God
will hear his cry. He knows without a doubt that God will forgive and deliver
him. What are you dealing with right now? What are others saying about you?
Don’t listen to them. Instead, turn to the only One whose opinion matters,
believe what He says, and rely on Him to deliver you.
