Do not let your heart be
troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
John 14:1 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
Jesus had just given the Last
Supper and predicted His betrayal, resurrection and ascension. His disciples
were understandably distressed, but His antidote for their worry was belief in
God. When we are troubled by the world around us, by the unknowns we face, the
best cure for that worry is to believe in God. Believe in His promises and
truth. Believe in who He is. Don’t let the world shake you. Don’t fear those
who can only harm the physical. Instead, trust the One who holds eternity in
His hands. God has said what will happen. He has promised what He will do. We
need to trust Him, believe what He says is true, and have faith. That will not
change our circumstances, but it will change our hearts. It will give us a
peace that is beyond understanding. It will give us the strength to face
tomorrow. Believe in God. Believe in Jesus. Believe the truth and let it free
you from fear and worry.
