But
God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
This is the greatest love we
could ever experience! The more we realize how little we deserve His mercy and
grace, the more love we will feel. God could have justly turned us aside,
sentencing us to eternal torment. He would have been right to do it. But He
didn’t. His love is so great that even before the creation of the universe He
put into place a plan of redemption. He knew that people would sin. He knew
that we would be eternally separated from Him. So with His perfect creation He
also made a way of salvation, the only Way. We can see that plan from the
beginning of Genesis, all the way through the Old Testament, pointing to the
One who would come to redeem His people. God knew we would sin, but He loved us
too much to leave us to it. He would rather die than be eternally separated
from us. Have you experienced this great love? Will you let it guide and change
your life?
Well said and a beautiful posting, dear Evelyn.
