This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.
And saved him out of all his troubles.
Psalm 34:6 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
This psalm could be read in
the first person, because “this poor man” is the author, so we could read it “I
cried out and the God heard me and saved me out of all my trouble.” We can know
without a doubt that God hears us when we cry out to Him because He has
promised to. Sometimes it feels like He hasn’t heard us because we didn’t get
an answer, or at least not the one we wanted, but that does not mean that He
didn’t hear. God is not obligated to answer when we want, the way we want, and
that is a good thing. God’s ways are not ours, His ways are better. When God
saves us, it will be better than the way we expect Him to do it. We must
remember that His objective is our holiness, not our happiness, so our good in
these trials may be growth rather than happiness. God will save us, and we need
to trust Him to do what is best for us, rather than what we want. We need to trust
that His way is best for us. Call on God, trust that He is good and His way is
best, and wait for Him to save you.
