Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;
Psalm 37:7a New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
We cannot make God do
anything, nor can we speed up the process. We must instead wait for God to
work. This verse is in a psalm talking about the distress of the seeming prosperity
of the wicked. They hurt others, cheat, steal and lie yet they not only escape
punishment but seem to be rewarded for their misdeeds. But David is encouraging
us to not be discouraged by it. Instead, we should trust in God. He is just. He
will not let them escape punishment eternally. Nor will He allow the righteous
to always suffer. We need to rest in Him, fully trusting and relying on Him to
work, letting Him do it without worrying or trying to take over. We must wait
patiently for God to act in His good time. Remind yourself of God’s love and
faithfulness to you. Remember all the times He has helped you. Trust in Him and
wait patiently.

Beautifully written, amen,amen!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's quite hard to rest in the Lord when someone has wronged us.
Good reminder.
God bless you ♡
