Devotions: Blessings from Adoration

Praise the Lord!
How blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who greatly delights in His commandments.

Psalm 112:1 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

We are happy when we fear, or revere, God. This is the kind of fear that inspires respect and adoration, not "being afraid". That respect and adoration incite us to obey God, to follow His ways because we love Him and have high esteem for what He says. If we have that love, respect, and esteem for God then we will delight in His commands because we will realize that in His commands are the ways of peace and life. It is through God’s commands that we grow closer to Him and see Him as He really is rather than how we want to see Him. And that delight in God’s commands influences us to obey them which also results in blessing. Everything involved in a life submitted to and immersed in God leads to blessing. This is similar to the person whom one views as the most wise or admirable. Anyone who thinks this way will naturally follow and try to be like that person. It should be so with God. We should think so highly of Him that we hang on His every word with our highest goal to be like Him. If we do that, then we will be blessed. What needs to change in your view of God in order to accomplish that?
