The preceding verses
talk about God being our shield (protector), our light, and gracious lover Who
withholds no good from the upright. Because of this, it is better for us to
spend one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere! We are so blessed by
trusting in Him because He takes care of us better than even the best earthly
father could. He shields us faithfully and guides us gently. He lights the way
for us and is the Light of our lives. When we put our trust in Him instead of
ourselves or others, we are entrusting our lives to the most capable Protector
and Guardian. He gives us more than we could ever want or deserve. How good it
is to seek the Lord and be continually in His presence! How truly happy and
prosperous is the one who trusts in Him!
