In return for my love they act as my accusers;
But I am in prayer.
Psalm 109:4 New American Standard
Bible 1995
This is a psalm of David written
during a time of distress. People whom he had befriended and even protected had
turned against him betrayed, hurt and even in danger, he turned to God. his
circumstances and feelings did not have the final say. He acknowledged what he
was going through and feeling. He didn’t try to deny them, but he wasn’t
controlled by them either. Instead, he took them to God. Prayer is our most
powerful weapon and should be our first resort. It is the battlefield and if we
would wage war there it would save many conflicts elsewhere. Only God knows a
person’s heart and only He can change it. We need to show humility by seeking
god’s help and counsel before we try to do it on our own.
What are you going through? How
do you respond to it? Spend some time in prayer. Seek God and His help. Trust the
outcome to Him.
