Devotions: The Source of Power

The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.
Psalm 29:11 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

This is the last verse in a psalm about God’s voice in the storm and is very encouraging to read! In it David encourages the reader to praise God because He is in control and powerful. The voice of God shakes the world, moves mountains, creates life, and shatters the forests. If there is that much power in His voice alone, imagine what He can do with His hand! God is more powerful than all, mightier than all, and more loving than all. Not only does He possess all power, but He also loves us deeply and is committed to doing what is best for us. He will give us the strength we need to get through what we face. He will bless us abundantly, more than we could ask or imagine. That does not mean He will make life easy for us, or take away our troubles, but He will be with us through them, because that is what is best for us. The easy way out is not always best, but He is there through it all. Praise Him! Bless Him! Ask Him for the strength you need and trust Him to get you through!
