The Lord is my strength and
song,
And He has become my salvation.
And He has become my salvation.
Psalm 118:14 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
This is the middle verse in
the middle chapter in the middle book of the Bible. It is the very center, and
aptly so. It is the basis of our faith. God is our strength. We have no real
strength of our own, and nothing we do in our own strength will prosper. It is
only because of God that we succeed at anything. Because God is our strength He
should also be our song. We should praise Him for everything He has done and
will do for us. He should be our joy, giving us reason to rejoice because of
the strength He gives us. Because we make Him our strength and our song,
because He is our source of power and joy, He is also our salvation. It is
because we trust in Him that He is able to save us. Not that He is incapable,
but we allow Him to and seek Him for it. Do you allow God to give you strength?
Do you seek Him for it? Do you praise Him for what He has done for you, and
find joy in Him? Is He your salvation?
