Finally,
be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
Ephesians 6:10 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
We are commanded to be strong
in God, not in ourselves, not in our intelligence, not in our bodies. We are to
be strong in Him and fight the battle in His strength not our own. We are to
use the strength of His might. He is the All-Powerful. None can overpower Him.
If we try to live life, to wage the war with sin and satan, on our own we will
fail. We don’t have the strength or might to do it. We need to turn to the
Almighty and use His strength. We need to have the fortitude to stand firm, to
have integrity as He does, to have the resolve to stay true. All of that comes
from God. We need the power of His grace and love in us. To gain all of this we
need Him in us, to be continually seeking His presence and drawing from Him
rather than from the world. Are you strong in the Lord or in yourself? What do
you need to do to gain His strength?
