It
was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do
not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 New American Standard
Bible (NASB)
Christ set us free so that we
can be free. That seems redundant, but so many miss out on it. Often we think,
or are told, that freedom is doing whatever we want, but in reality that is
bondage to sin. satan wants you to believe that because he knows he can deceive
many with that idea. Christ did not free us from sin so that we can do whatever
we want. He freed us from slavery to sin. What most people don’t realize is
that there are only two options: bondage to sin or obedience to God. There is
no door #3 because if we are not obedient to God, then we are disobedient to
Him and that is sin. There is no middle ground. Christ wants us to be free from
sin because He knows that sin destroys. He wants us to have a good life free
from pain, but that is only possible through obedience. We must stand firm in
obedience, in His truth, so that we do not fall into bondage again. We choose
whether we are free or slaves. Will you be free in the life Christ has for you
or will you remain/return to slavery to sin?
